The 4E’s for the social media marketing world.

Posted by Travis Cameron under All Posts | Permalink | No Comments »

I stumbled across this post on linkedin by Brian Fetherstonhaugh who works for Ogilvy & Mather.  It's partially an advertisement for the company and the work that they have done lately but it does show some insight into how companies need to begin marketing themselves in todays changing environment.  No longer is everything based off of the 4P's but I wouldn't fully agree with him that everything is dependant upon the 4 E's.  The way that he's titled his blog does make sense though saying they are 'in' as many topics now adays are only trending for a short period of time.

Dana Tanamachi – Custom Chalk Lettering

Posted by Marko Barac under All Posts | Permalink | No Comments »

Dana Tanamachi is a graphic designer who creates beautiful custom chalk lettering for businesses and homes. Her work is amazing and she doesn’t use stencils or a projector to aid her drawings. And to think at some point it all will be erased!

Google +1

Posted by Travis Cameron under All Posts | Permalink | No Comments »

Google +1 was released yesterday to compete with Facebooks 'Like' button.

The idea and concept behind the Google +1 is that when your doing a search you can see items and websites that your friends have found useful to them in the past.  These friends or contacts would be thoes whom you have listed within your Google account already.

The positives behind this are that people trust the opinions of their friends and co-workers over anything else so by having someone you know say that the website provides useful information will more then likely cause you to take a look at it vs. something that may be ranked first overall.  Goodbye to SEO as it is now turning towards social optimization.  Instead of focusing on key-words to hit for search engines again companies are now going to have to re-look at their sites to provide the best information to the customer as possible.

As the world is changing to 'listing' vs. 'telling' this is just another step towards the information revolution.  Companies are going to have to listen to what consumers are looking for on their sites and not the unimportant information that they aren't.  I'll be waiting to see if company policies begin coming out telling employees to +1 their page and write a positive review so any of their contacts will choose them over a competitor.

This could turn into a much more useful tool then just a generic Like button on your site…but really, who uses their google account and has transfered all of their contacts there? I'm not one of them….

HD GOPRO Avalanche Cliff Jump

Posted by Mike Mercuri under All Posts | Permalink | No Comments »

Not only is it impressive to see manufacturers make smaller and smaller form factors these days (5k resolution in the EPIC or 1080p inside the  tiny HD GOPRO), but it is absolutely amazing what kind of footage these smaller cameras are allowing to be captured.  For most of us:  smaller cameras are clearly the future.

Tony Orrico – The Human Spirograph

Posted by Marko Barac under All Posts | Permalink | 1 Comment »

Artist, dancer, human spirograph. He creates remarkable large-scale mock-mathematical drawings with a savant’s focus and a marathoner’s endurance, sometimes drawing for up to four hours continuously. What makes Orrico’s art most remarkable is the complete grace and fluidity with which he renders seemingly mechanical drawings, transforming the human body at once into a precision instrument and a delicate paintbrush of the abstract. Watch him work his magic at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C.:
